Sonia Azad is passionate about helping people to prioritize their well-being. As an Emmy Award-winning journalist and a certified yoga and meditation instructor, she has spent years exploring the intersection of mind-body wellness, movement, and mental health.
With over a decade of teaching experience, Sonia has led retreats around the world, guiding women and men toward greater balance, mindfulness, and inner peace. Whether through breathwork, movement, or meditation, her approach is inclusive, accessible, and deeply transformative.

Q: Do I have to be good at Yoga to attend?
A: All classes and experiences are guided and geared toward all levels. Sonia's retreats are accessible to all levels, ages, and bodies. This is an unpretentious, intentional and open-minded group setting.
Q: What airport do I fly into?
A: San Salvador Airport
Q: What are the recommended arrival and departure times?
A: For the best experience, plan to arrive at the airport between 12-2 PM and depart between 3-5 PM.
Q: What time is check-in and check-out?
A: Check-in: 4:00 PM
Check-out: Between 11:00 AM - 1:00 PM
Q: What should I pack?
A: Mizata is cozy and island-casual.
Q: Do I need to bring a yoga mat?
A: Mizata has mats, blocks and other props so there's no need to pack yours unless you have specific needs or particular mats and towels that you prefer.
Q: Is it safe to visit El Salvador?
A: Sonia traveled to El Salvador and to Mizata last year to experience it for herself. In the last 10 years, El Salvador's president has made great strides to dramatically reduce violence and create a stable nation that is welcoming visitors and investors from all over the world.
